Sound As Sculpture

If you are working with a motion sensor here is the software I'll need you to download for your computer. MaxMSP https://cycling74.com/downloads Max is a graphic based programming language for sound and is super intuitive. It does cost money or can be a subscription monthly service, but if you just download it as a demo you'll get the 30 day free thing. :) Works on PC or MAC Don't worry about learning it, we'll go over it in class and make a program specific to you so you can get to your project. After you have your program made, it will run regardless if you own max or not. You just won't be able to save anymore. Pure Data Like MaxMSP but free, unfortunately less intuitive. If you want to jump into the deep end and have a low end along with your other transducer you can always get a Bass Shaker. Motion sensors are in many things from halloween toys, antitheft alarms, to practically everything in our phone. But to make a more successful and interesting sensor and sound piece where you can change out sounds and customize it here is what you will need for the class. (This will work with video as well if you want to go a step further in the future. Ok, there's been a wave of sickness going around. I myself just recovered the other day, it's a killer. So I thought I'd get us all caught up online. First order of business will be the make up... Better to have all three here so we can be on the same page. Is there any day that will work for an extra class? I know Tuesday didn't work. Also for next week, we can go til 10pm if you want. And we can start as early as 5pm.  Next week is the last week campus is open. We can do that following weekend, but I'll have to arrange another place to have class. Which I can do.
